Denny Hamlin, a three-time winner of the Daytona 500, will join the growing list of active NASCAR National Series drivers to compete in the Superstar Racing Experience this season, the series announced on Wednesday.

Hamlin, who competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Joe Gibbs Racing, will compete in the season-opening event at Stafford Speedway on July 13.

“I am absolutely fired up to join the SRX season opener at Stafford Motor Speedway,” said Hamlin. “That track has so much history, to finally get to race there will be a bucket list item for me. It’s been fun watching SRX grow over the past two years, and it’s an honor they asked me to join them.”

Among the drivers scheduled to join Hamlin in the season-opener at Stafford Speedway include Kevin Harvick, Clint Bowyer, and full-time drivers Brad Keselowski, Ryan Newman, Bobby Labonte, and Hailie Deegan

“When I reached out to Denny, and he responded in such a positive manner, it helped me validate why ESPN and the return of Thursday Night Thunder was such a great move for SRX,” said Don Hawk.”The model allows us to secure his caliber of talent – and he can flat-out drive. We’re thrilled to have him and love his enthusiasm to be a part of the field.”

The 2023 Superstar Racing Experience will begin its six-race stint with the season-opening event at Stafford Speedway, which will air on Thursday Night on ESPN as part of the network’s new “Thursday Night Thunder”.
