Ryan Ellis, who has run 10 races with Alpha Prime Racing so far in the 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, will return to the team in 2023 with an increased schedule next year.

Ellis says returning to Alpha Prime for 2023 has been his goal since he began racing for the organization at the beginning of the season.

“As soon as we got this year underway, I knew I wanted to be nowhere other than back at Alpha Prime Racing,” Ellis said in a press release. “We’ve had some really good runs this year and there are definitely some races where our results do not reflect what the team deserved due to bad luck. I’m really excited and feel very fortunate to get the opportunity to run more races with everyone who is a part of this team.

“It’s a dream to be able to work with every single person here and I want to thank every single one of my sponsors, Tommy Joe, Caesar, everyone at Alpha Prime, everyone who helps me with marketing and day-to-day work, and especially family – my wife and daughter who put up with me, because I wouldn’t be here without every single one of them. We’re grinding away to continue to grow our program year after year and I’m doing my best to enjoy every minute of this ride and continue pursuing my lifelong dream.”

For Tommy Joe Martins, Alpha Prime’s General Manager, Ellis is one of those guys that truly understands what the team is attempting to build and they are excited to have him back in 2023.

“Ryan was one of the first people to believe in what we were putting together here at Alpha Prime Racing,” Martins said. “We’re very happy to have him and his partners secured for 2023 and proud to have him be the first driver announced in our lineup.”

Ellis landing more opportunity with Alpha Prime in 2023 is a feel good story as the 32-year-old journeyman driver has attempted to do a lot with very little throughout his racing career.

In 10 starts this season, Ellis has scored his career-best finish — 13th — twice. Once at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the spring and once at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May.

While the press release from Ellis doesn’t give an exact number of races he will run next season, the release states that sponsorship partners and exact schedule announcements will be coming soon.
