Sammy Smith saw his night come to an end after a crash on lap 15 in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Wawa 250 at Daytona.

While Sammy Smith is a young rookie driver, the 18-year old has rarely had moments where he’s looked like a rookie. Unfortunately, for Smith, he had one in the early going of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Wawa 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

Smith, who radioed that he had been trying to hang onto his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Supra, lost control coming off of turn 4 on lap 15.

The No. 18 skidded toward the inside wall, which is where Smith’s night would come to a screeching end as he slammed hard into the SAFER barrier.
