When BJ McLeod and the No. 78 Live Fast Motorsports team unload for this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway, they’ll have one of the prettiest cars in the garage area.

The No. 78 Ford Mustang will have a new sponsor this week — NASCAR Rivals, an upcoming Nintendo Switch game from Motorsport Games — and with it will come bold purple, pink and orange colors on the car.

Live Fast and McLeod, who have built an incredible relationship with Motorsport Games through their NASCAR Heat and Ignition franchises, is elated to continue the partnership this weekend in a race where McLeod scored his career-best finish a season ago.

“Our team is super excited to be back at the track with Motorsport Games,” said McLeod, who is also a co-owner of the race team. “This fall Daytona race is special for two reasons. One, the LFM No. 78 Ford Mustang will be boasting MSG’s new NASCAR Rivals game. This exciting game features the 2022 official teams, drivers, cars, and regular season and playoff schedule. I look forward to its release on Oct. 14. Second, I earned my top NASCAR finish at Daytona International Speedway’s 2021 Cup Series race last fall, P9. I’m eager to hit the track again and aim for another incredible finish.”

NASCAR Rivals is an officially licensed NASCAR video game on the Nintendo Switch, which will feature all of the cars, tracks and action from the 2022 NASCAR season, and it will be available for pre-order on Wednesday, August 24th. The game will drop for $49.99 in retail stores and the Nintendo eShop on October 14th.

While Live Fast Motorsports has struggled in this first year with NASCAR’s new Next Gen car, McLeod has scored two top-20 finishes this season, a pair of 19th-place finishes at Atlanta and Charlotte Motor Speedway. Additionally, McLeod has led five laps this season, the first laps he’s ever led in NASCAR Cup Series competition.

The No. 78 car has been shared by multiple drivers this season and after 25 races, the organization sits 36th in the NASCAR Cup Series owner standings.
