Ryan Vargas will have a sporty new look on his No. 6 JD Motorsports Chevrolet Camaro when the NASCAR Xfinity Series heads to Daytona International Speedway next weekend for the Wawa 250. On Friday, Vargas and JD Motorsports announced that National Metering Services will serve as their primary sponsor for the event.

For Vargas, who finished top-20 at Daytona back in February, he’s excited to hit the high-banked 2.5-mile superspeedway with a new partner.

“I am so happy to have the added support from a new sponsor like National Metering Services to continue to support our team’s racing efforts,” Vargas said in a team release. “We finished 18th at Daytona in February, and look forward to heading back there again!”

This will mark the first foray into NASCAR sponsorship by National Metering Services, which is a company that installs water, gas and electric meters as well as radio, AMR, AMI and Wifi. NMS has been installing meters in residential and commercial applications for more than 75 years.

Now, they’re going to be on the side of a NASCAR race car.

“We are excited to sponsor Ryan Vargas in the No. 6 JDM entry at Daytona. With NASCAR being a new venture for me and the company, we are happy to be able to support an up and coming talent like Ryan, and look forward to being there with some guests to enjoy the race,” said National Metering Services Pres. William Castle.

Vargas, 21, has one-career top-10 finish in 60 NASCAR Xfinity Series starts. Vargas boasts a best finish of 12th this season, which came at Atlanta Motor Speedway. While Vargas hasn’t had luck, when it comes to finishes, the California-native has had speed in qualifying.

At Daytona in February, Vargas qualified in eighth and he followed that stout run up by qualifying seventh at Talladega in the spring. Now, Vargas and the No. 6 team will look to close out a full weekend of racing next weekend at Daytona.

The 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series Wawa 250 at Daytona International Speedway is set for Friday, August 26th at 7:30 PM ET. Television coverage will be provided by USA Network.
