Auto-Owners Insurance – a long-time partner of Martin Truex Jr. – will return to Joe Gibbs Racing for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, the organization announced on Tuesday.

The company, one of the nation’s largest insurers with more than five million policies annually, began sponsoring Martin Truex Jr. at Furniture Row Racing in 2016, moving with him to Joe Gibbs Racing after the single-car operation shuttered after the 2018 season.

“Auto-Owners has been a great partner of ours for a long time now,” said Truex. “They’re always 100 percent behind whatever we’re doing whether that’s on the track or with our foundation. They do so many great things for us and I’m very appreciative of their partnership and I’m excited to keep it going.”

Throughout the seven-year partnership between Truex and Auto-Owners, the pairing has accumulated seven victories in 42 NASCAR Cup Series starts, three of which have been with Joe Gibbs Racing.

In addition to the pairing’s on-track success, there have also been many instances of off-track successes, with Truex and Auto-Owners spearheading multiple charitable efforts, including the “Names on the Hood” initiative, which will wrap up Sunday at Michigan International Speedway.

The program allows Auto-Owners associates to have their names displayed on the No. 19 Auto-Owners Insurance Toyota Camry TRD, in exchange for a donation to the Martin Truex Jr Foundation (MTJF). Sunday at Michigan, the company’s home race, the names of 1,500-plus associates that contributed will reside on the No. 19.

“Martin is the perfect ambassador for Auto-Owners Insurance,” said Jamie Whisnant, CEO of Auto-Owners Insurance. “His commitment to excellence, teamwork, doing things the right way, and giving back to his community embody what we stand for and we couldn’t be more thrilled he’s coming back.”

Amidst speculation of retirement, Truex confirmed in June that he would return to Joe Gibbs Racing for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, once again piloting the No. 19 Toyota Camry.

The remaining sponsorship schedule for Truex’s No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota Camry will be announced at a later date.
