While Interstate Batteries has become synonymous with being a primary sponsor on the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing machine, over the last few seasons, the battery retailer has begun to dip into sponsorship on other JGR entries. This weekend, at New Hampshire Motor Speedway the company’s iconic green will adorn Martin Truex Jr.’s No. 19 Toyota Camry.

Joe Gibbs Racing made the announcement of the sponsorship in a tweet on Monday.

Not only will Truex pilot the Interstate Batteries car this weekend, but Interstate Batteries is also going to be giving away a $1,000 Bass Pro Shops gift card to a lucky fan through a Twitter giveaway.

Truex, 42, is still in search of his first win of the 2022 NASCAR Cup Series season, but the New Jersey-native has been consistent to this point in the season. As it stands, Truex sits 6th in the NCS regular season championship standings after 19 races.

The 2017 NASCAR Cup Series Champion also confirmed last month that he will once again return to pilot the No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota during the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, after months of speculation on whether he would retire following the 2022 season.

Truex finished 11th in this past weekend’s Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, despite being spun by Ross Chastain on lap 91 of the 260 lap event. Truex and his team made repairs to the car, and toward the end of the race, Truex was a potential threat for the win before settling for a finish just outside the top-10.

Now, Truex will head to NHMS hoping to score his first win of the season.

The NASCAR Cup Series Ambetter 301 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway is scheduled for 3:00 PM ET on Sunday, July 17th. The race will be televised on USA Network.
