Jeffrey Earnhardt – who has competed in seven of 14 NASCAR Xfinity Series events so far this season — will add another race to his schedule with Sam Hunt Racing, the organization announced Tuesday.

In a pre-race advance, the team announced that the Mooresville, North Carolina-native will return to the No. 26 Toyota GR Supra in the Alsco Uniforms 250 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on July 9.

The 32-year-old has competed in five events for the Toyota operation this season, netting a best finish of 13th at Atlanta, one of two top-15 and three top-20 results.

On top of his schedule in the No. 26, Earnhardt has competed in one-off events for both Emerling-Gase Motorsports (Phoenix) and Richard Childress Racing (Talladega).

At Talladega, Earnhardt earned his best finish across NASCAR’s National Series, finishing runner-up to Noah Gragson, while driving the famous No. 3 that his grandfather made famous.

Following Saturday’s event at Nashville, Earnhardt’s final two scheduled races for SHR will be Atlanta and Bristol.
