Kyle Larson and Hendrick Motorsports’ No. 5 team will be facing a harsh penalty as the NASCAR Cup Series makes its stretch run to the 2022 Playoffs, after losing a right-front wheel in the final stage at Sonoma.

The loss of the right-front wheel came in the middle of green-flag pit stops, which were set to bring teams to the conclusion of Sanday’s Toyota / Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.

Any suspension to crew members will be announced mid-week by NASCAR, which are expected for crew chief Cliff Daniels, Jackman Brandon Johnson, and Front Tire Changer Donnie Tasser
