Video: William Byron Cuts Left Rear Tire While Leading, Loses Two Laps

William Byron tire kansas speedway 2022 leading
William Byron had the race lead and was looking good in Stage 2, until a left rear tire went down on lap 114.

It has been a weird race at Kansas Speedway so far. Left rear tires have been going down left and right and now issues have struck the race leader — William Byron.

Byron, who had the lead and was looking like he was in control of the race, had a left rear tire go down, which forced him to relinquish the lead to Kurt Busch.

Luckily, Byron was able to avoid crashing, but the tire issue put him two laps down while getting service on pit road.

Here is video of Byron’s troubles:

Byron got a bit of luck, as green flag pit stops would cycle far enough for him to get one of his laps back, but he still sits one lap off the pace on lap 128.
