Jack Harvey suffered a heavy crash during final practice for the NTT IndyCar Series at Texas Motor Speedway.

The 28-year-old Brit was going through Turns 1 and 2 when he appeared to slide off the exit of the corner, making slight contact with the outside wall. From there, the No. 45 Rahal Letterman Lanigan Honda redirected across the track before an slight angled impact on the driver’s left into the inside wall. The momentum carried him down the backstretch before coming to a stop near the entrance of Turn 3.

According to Marty Snider on Peacock, the primary car is cracked and the team will have to move to a backup car for Sunday’s XPEL 375. It was additionally noted the backup car is the team’s planned entry for the Indianapolis 500 in May.

Despite moving to a backup car, he will retain his 24th-place starting position for Sunday.
