When it comes to NASCAR Xfinity Series qualifying this season, Kaulig Racing is two-for-two, with AJ Allmendinger edging out NASCAR Cup Series competitor Cole Custer for the pole position in the Production Alliance Group 300.

Allmendinger posted a time of 40.038 seconds (179.829mph) to put his No. 16 Nutrien Ag Solutions Chevrolet Camaro at the top of the scoreboard in single-car qualifying, just eight-thousandths ahead of Cole Custer, in the No. 07 SS Green Light Racing Ford Mustang.

Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Brandon Jones and Trevor Bayne placed third and fourth-place in the session, with defending series champion Daniel Hemric, rounding out the top-five.

Noah Gragson, Landon Cassill, Austin Hill, Sheldon Creed, and Jeremy Clements rounded out the top-10. Justin Allgaier – who posted the fastest time in the series’ pre-qualifying practice — qualified 20th after getting loose on both ends of the track.

Will Rodgers (No. 33), Joe Graf Jr. (No. 08), and Brennan Poole (No. 47) were the three drivers who failed to qualify for Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Auto Club Speedway.
