Post-race technical inspection following Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race has been completed.

Kyle Larson’s race-winning No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro has passed. As a result, NASCAR has declared him and his team the official winners of the race.

With the win, Larson’s 10th of the 2021 season, he becomes the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Champion. Larson is now a 16-time winner in NASCAR Cup Series competition.

No issues were detected in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings following Sunday’s race are now considered official.

Martin Truex Jr. is the runner up in the championship standings, Denny Hamlin is third and Chase Elliott ended up fourth.

Brad Keselowski, Kyle Larson, Denny Hamlin, Martin Truex Jr, and Matt DiBenedetto each had one lug nut not secure, meaning crew chiefs Jeremy Bullins, Cliff Daniels, Chris Gabehart, James Small, and Jonathan Hassler will receive a monetary fine.

Kyle Busch’s No. 18 had two lug nuts not secured, which will likely (pending NASCAR confirmation) result in a one-race suspension for Ben Beshore, carrying over into 2022.
