Kyle Larson Takes Win in Opening Night Prelim of World of Outlaws Sprint National Open at Williams Grove

Kyle Larson took another victory in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Sprint Car Series on Friday night. Larson led all 25 laps of the preliminary feature on the opening night of the National Open at Williams Grove.

Larson topped Logan Schuchart and Donny Schatz for the prelim victory on Friday night in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.

While the win is impressive, Larson will now set his sights on the top prize, the $75,000 National Open, which will be contested on Saturday night.

If Larson can take his first-career win in the National Open at Williams Grove, he will achieve the 2021 World of Outlaws Sprint Car Triple Crown.

Larson already won the other two crown jewel events in the series earlier this year with victories in the Knoxville Nationals and the Kings Royal.

The 29-year old driver is the NASCAR Cup Series points leader as the Series is in the middle of the Round of 12 of their Playoffs. Larson has erupted for a career-year on the NASCAR side of things in 2021.

Heading into this season, Larson had recorded a total of six wins through his first 223 NASCAR Cup Series starts. He has already recorded six wins in just 30 starts this season. After competing on Friday and Saturday night at Williams Grove, Larson will head to Talladega Superspeedway in an effort to continue bolstering his championship hopes in the NASCAR Cup Series on Sunday.
