The official starting lineup for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol has been set. Martin Truex Jr. has secured the pole by way of the NASCAR performance metric.

Denny Hamlin, Truex’s Joe Gibbs Racing teammate, will lineup in second spot.

Joey Logano, Chase Elliott and Kyle Larson will round out the top-five starters.

How was this NASCAR Bristol starting lineup determined?

The NASCAR performance metric is a weighted average of four different criteria following the race from the week before.

15% of the average is based on lap time from last week’s race. 25% is based on the driver’s finish last week. 25% is based on where the car finished the week before. And 35% of the average is based on the car owner slot of the car.
