Full-time NASCAR Xfinity Series competitor, Brett Moffitt will miss a NXS race for the first time this season, as he was a last minute scratch before Saturday’s Sport Clips Haircuts VFW Help a Hero 200 at Darlington due to, “medical reasons,” according to a report from Frontstretch.com’s Zach Sturniolo.

Ty Dillon will race in place of Moffitt in the No. 02 Our Motorsports FR8 Auctions Chevrolet Camaro in Saturday’s race.

The No. 02 car, which was scheduled to start from the 10th-position, will drop to the rear before Saturday’s race due to the driver change.

According to Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports, Dillon received the call to drive the No. 02 car around 12:30 to 12:45 pm. Andy Petree was able to offer his helicopter to get Dillon to the track on time.

An attempt to reach contact with Our Motorsports in hopes of a comment has gone unanswered at this time. If an answer is received, any information will be added to this story.

An Iowa-native, Moffitt broke both legs in a motocross accident last season while the NASCAR season was on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, he never missed a race due to the injuries and finished third in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series point standings.

Moffitt came into this weekend 22nd in NASCAR Xfinity Series championship standings and will need a win in order to advance to the Playoffs.
