One of the biggest fans of NASCAR is looking to live out every fan’s dream, and he’s got the backing of many in the community to do it.

Sammy Wilson, who is known as ‘NASCAR Sammy’ on social media, is on a mission to give the command to start engines for the Cup Series race at Atlanta next month.

While it could have been any race, Sammy chose Atlanta because of the title sponsorship for the race. The Quaker State 400 is being presented by the place that gave Sammy his first job – Walmart.

He took to social media to announce his bid, and to garner support from the NASCAR community.

As an individual on the autism spectrum, Sammy has made it his personal mission to raise awareness about autism, and to end the stigmas behind it.

His wish has caught the attention of many in the NASCAR garage area, from team owners, to drivers and to followers from outside the NASCAR realm.

Many have already voiced their opinions and their endorsement of the Kyle Busch superfan to allow him to say those most famous words in motorsports.

The selfless 19-year-old has been hosting giveaways on his Twitter page over the past few weeks, to give thanks back to his followers for endorsing his autism awareness mission. Now, the love is being reciprocated.

His mother Jennifer has been forever grateful for the love the NASCAR community has shown the bid.

“Sammy would be so honored to give the ‘drivers start your engines’ command on behalf of the Autism community around the world while representing his employer, Walmart, at Atlanta Motor Speedway,” Jennifer told TobyChristie.com. “As parents, we couldn’t more proud of our son, and all the support he receives from the NASCAR community means so very much to our family.”

It wasn’t too long ago when Sammy packed up his Toyota 4Runner, and his Camping World trailer to head out on his own Positivity Tour. The car was gifted to him by the manufacturer along with his favorite driver – Kyle Busch. The trailer was gifted by Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis via social media.

Lemonis has even offered up the chance for an autism awareness / Camping World paint scheme for a race in the summer on the Trackhouse No. 99 Camaro. Sammy successfully took on the wager and scored the necessary retweets to make it happen.

Atlanta Motor Speedway has yet to acknowledge the mission as of this publishing.
