A relatively tame ARCA Menards Series race at Talladega got a sudden spark of action with just 15 laps remaining in Saturday’s General Tire 200.

Joe Gibbs Racing’s Ty Gibbs was blindsided on the inside lane exiting the tri-oval, and was sent sliding down towards the inside retaining wall.

Rev Racing’s Nick Sanchez gave a tap to Greg Van Alst, which sent him down into Gibbs, triggering the wreck. The No. 44 of John Ferrier also was caught up in the tail end of the wreck.

Both Van Alst and Gibbs were forced to retire from the race thanks to the damage sustained in the crash.

Sanchez was able to continue, finishing third in the General Tire 200.
