Akinori Ogata Honoring Kenji Momota For Darlington Throwback Weekend

The No. 33 KYOWA Industrial Tundra for Akinori Ogata.

When the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series visits Darlington for Throwback Weekend in May, at least one entry will take the series back to its inaugural season.

Reaume Brothers Racing and driver Akinori Ogata will honor fellow Japanese driver Kenji Momota with a special No. 33 throwback for Darlington in May.

The Kanagawa, Japan driver will sport the same paint scheme that Momota raced in his lone start for Randy MacDonald in the inaugural 1995 Camping World Truck Series season. He entered the season finale at Phoenix, being credited with a 37th place finish.

The throwback meaning has deeper ties than just honoring a fellow Japanese driver for Ogata. He also raced for the MacDonald family, during his first ARCA Menards East Series in 2012 in a four-race stint.

Fans can see Ogata honor Momota at Darlington for the LiftKits4Less.com 200 on May 7th at 7:30 PM EST on FOX Sports 1 and the FOX Sports app.
