Kyle Larson, William Byron and Cody Ware to Rear of Sunday’s Cup Series Field at Phoenix After Multiple Inspection Failures

ORIGINAL STORY SATURDAY March 13, 2021: Kyle Larson, who won last week’s NASCAR Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, will be among three drivers who will drop to the rear of the field before the start of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Instacart 500 at Phoenix Raceway due to multiple pre-race inspection failures on Saturday.

Joining Larson at the rear of the field will be his Hendrick Motorsports teammate William Byron, who won at Homestead-Miami Speedway a few weeks ago and Rick Ware Racing’s Cody Ware.

Larson was scheduled to roll from the starting grid in second-position, while Byron was set to start from 10th and Ware had the 31st-starting spot.

Officially, each driver will be credited with their original starting spot, but they will pull to the side and let the field drive by them on the pace laps before Sunday’s race.
