Niece Motorsports and iRacing will team with action sports legend and Nitro Circus founder Travis Pastrana, as well as NTT IndyCar Series driver Conor Daly to compete in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series World of Westgate 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on September 25th.
The duo will have support from iRacing, as well as Elliott’s Custom Trailers, Pit Viper, Fatheadz, and Wienerschnitzel, as they take over the No. 42 and No. 45 Chevrolet Silverados for Niece Motorsports, joining teammates Natalie Decker and Ryan Truex as part of Niece Motorsports’ four-truck effort at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Daly and Pastrana were among numerous motorsports and action sports legends to compete in iRacing’s LCQ League earlier this year, – a private iRacing league where drivers would have fun in cars of many different disciplines — competing against the likes of Parker Kligerman, Landon Cassill, Alexander Rossi and Ricky Carmichael.
“I’m really looking forward to bringing our rivalry from the LCQ League to the real world,” said Pastrana. “We’ve been getting lots of advice and iRacing on-track coaching from fellow LCQ member Parker Kligerman. I’m looking forward to seeing how the hours in iRacing pay off on the track, especially for Conor, who has never driven a NASCAR truck in real life.”
Pastrana – unlike teammate Conor Daly — is no stranger to the NASCAR Truck Series or Las Vegas Motor Speedway, as the 36-year-old participated in three NASCAR Truck Series events at the 1.5-mile track, scoring a best finish of 15th-place in 2012. Pastrana has also taken part in a NASCAR Truck Series event this season, piloting the No. 40 Chevrolet Silverado for Niece Motorsports at Kansas Speedway.
Daly – who splits a full-season in the NTT IndyCar Series between Carlin Racing and Ed Carpenter Racing — has never contested a race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway in any series, and has only made one prior start in NASCAR’s top-three series, piloting the No. 6 Ford Mustang for Roush Fenway Racing at Road America.
“I could not be more excited to jump in a Gander Outdoors Series truck for the first time in Las Vegas,” added Daly. “This will be one of the greatest challenges I’ve ever faced in my career, as it will be the first event I’ve ever done where I’ve never driven a single lap in the [truck] before taking the green flag for the race. Travis and I have been going head-to-head on iRacing, getting as much practice as possible, since that’s the best possible form of preparation we have.”
In the week leading up to the World of Westgate 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, fans will have the opportunity to race Travis Pastrana and Conor Daly through a series of invitation-only events on iRacing, featuring Pastrana’s Subaru Motorsports USA rally car and Yokohama Pro 2 off-road truck, Daly’s Ed Carpterner Racing IndyCar, both drivers’ Niece Motorsports trucks, and more.
Stay tuned to Pastrana, Daly and iRacing’s social media channels for information on how to compete with each driver throughout the week leading up to the race.
