Kyle Busch will make his return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Friday Night at Richmond Raceway, as the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series Champion will participate in the first leg of this weekend’s doubleheader weekend for the series, piloting the No. 54 Toyota Supra for Joe Gibbs Racing.

Richmond will mark Busch’s fifth and final NASCAR Xfinity Series start of the 2020 season, and will come at one of the Las Vegas, Nevada-native’s favorite race tracks, scoring a total of 12 victories across the NASCAR Cup Series and the NASCAR Xfinity Series at the 0.75-mile oval.

In his four prior starts this season, Busch has only visited victory lane on one occasion, after holding off Austin Cindric for the victory at Charlotte Motor Speedway. However, the 35-year-old has earned top-three finishes in three of his four events, coming up short in battles again series regulars Brandon Jones and Chase Briscoe earlier in the season at Phoenix Raceway and Darlington Raceway respectively.

Busch leads the series as the all-time leader in race wins, scoring nearly twice as many victories as Mark Martin, who ranks second on the series’ all-time win list.

The last time Busch contested a NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Richmond Raceway was Fall 2017, when Brad Keselowski edged out Kyle Busch for the victory, after Busch led 182 of the event’s 250 laps.
