Aric Almirola Holds Off Joey Logano For Stage 2 Win in Saturday Cup Series Race at Pocono

Aric Almirola, who started the day from the top spot as he won the random draw for the pole, was able to hold off Joey Logano in a three-lap shootout for the Stage 2 win in Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series Pocono Organics 325 at Pocono Raceway.

Logano, who won Stage 1 earlier in the race, held on to finish second in Stage 2.

Martin Truex Jr. came home third in the Stage, while Ryan Blaney, last week’s race-winner at Talladega, was fourth.

Matt DiBenedetto has been sneaky good all race long and finished fifth in Stage 2.

Alex Bowman, Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin and Chase Elliott rounded out the top-10 in Stage 2.

Late in the Stage, Tyler Reddick and Erik Jones went for a ride into the inside wall off of turn three. Jones is done for the day, Reddick had severe damage to the rear quarterpanel of his No. 8, but he is still in the race.
