Well, things are not off to the best of starts for Kyle Busch and his No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing team. The 2019 NASCAR Cup Series champion will have to drop to the rear of the field at the beginning of Sunday’s The Real Heroes 400 after his car failed pre-race inspection twice.

For fantasy purposes and for the official scoring at the conclusion of the event, Busch will officially be scored as starting from the fourth position.

Busch’s No. 18 car is the only machine that failed pre-race inspection.

Everyone else will roll from their designated starting positions.

Busch was slated to start from the fourth position in what will be the first NASCAR race in over two months. The sport had come to a halt as the COVID-19 pandemic swept the United States.

In four starts this season, Busch has two top-five finishes and sits 12th in the championship standings. He is still looking for his first win of the year.
