CHECK UP!

The words of Jeff Gordon and Mike Joy, telling in-race analyst Clint Bowyer to check up as a multi-car incident broke out in front of the No. 14. Bowyer made it through the incident cleanly, but lost a numer of positions, when his new spotters forgot to tell him that the caution flag was out.

If this whole “Fox Sports 1 Broadcaster” thing doesn’t work out for Jeff Gordon, he could always make it as a spotter!

The incident began when the No. 6 of Ross Chastain was tagged by the No. 24 of William Byron, sending Chastain for a wild ride through the first corner of the virtual Homestead-Miami Speedway. Chastain collected Garrett Smithley and Parker Kligerman, before driving off.

That was not the end of the incident though, as four-wide contact on the backstretch caused Ross Chastain and Justin Allgaier, along with others to end up in the outside wall on Lap 29 of the Dixie Vodka 150
