This certainly isn’t the start to the weekend that Mike Affarano Motorsports wanted.

According to a Facebook post from team owner Mike Affarano on Wednesday night, the team’s truck and trailer, which is carrying their No. 03 Trump/Pence 2020 Chevrolet Silverado, has skidded off the road and into a ditch in wintry weather conditions.

According to an update in the form of a comment on the Facebook post, Affarano says that nobody was injured in the incident and that his team had to wait on a tow truck to pull the truck and trailer out of the ditch.

The Mike Affarano Motorsports Team is based out of Chicago, Illinois.

At 2:32 AM, Affarano responded to a Facebook message from TobyChristie.com. Affarano says it appears the only damage they incurred was to a few lights on the trailer. Other than that, Affarano says they are, “all good.”

With first NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series practice set for Thursday, the team —- which was already a long shot to make the field —- has become an even bigger underdog with this setback.

The No. 03 truck, which will be driven by Tim Viens, is one of 41 teams that will be battling for 32 spots in the starting field for Friday’s NextEra Energy 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

The team made headlines when it was announced that their team would be sponsored by the Trump campaign by way of the Patriots PAC of America.
