NASCAR announced on Wednesday, that Cole Swindell will perform at the December 5th NASCAR Cup Series Awards banquet in Nashville, Tennessee.

Sam Hunt was scheduled to headline the event, before being arrested after a DUI.

Swindell is an accomplished artist who has 11-No. 1 songs on his resume. And according to Swindell in a NASCAR.com post, he has been a NASCAR fan since he was a child.

“I grew up watching Earnhardt as a kid with my dad and two brothers,” Swindell said. “I’ve been a NASCAR fan since I was a kid and have been blessed to become friends with some of the drivers in recent years. So this is a big honor to be invited to perform at the NASCAR awards as they recognize some of their best drivers, and we get to do it all in Nashville!”

Swindell joins fellow musician Chris Janson and Cassadee Pope — who will co-host the ceremonies with Rutledge Wood.
