Report: Cole Custer Moving to Stewart-Haas Racing’s No. 41 in 2020

Well, the big domino appears to have dropped for NASCAR silly season.

According to a new report citing sources from Jim Utter at Motorsport.com, Cole Custer will be moving to the NASCAR Cup Series in 2020.

In the report, it states that Custer will replace Daniel Suarez in Stewart-Haas Racing’s No. 41 machine.

Custer has exploded in 2019 to the tune of seven victories in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. This weekend, Custer has a date with a potential championship as he is part of the Championship 4.

SHR, in recent months, had been locked in negotiations with Suarez to return, but all along the rumors swirling were that there wasn’t enough sponsorship to make Suarez’s return happen.

It appears that is what forced SHR’s hand on moving on from the Mexico-native.
