Our Motorsports Buys Cars From GMS Racing, Going Full-Time Xfinity Racing in 2020

Our Motorsports, which has competed in 14 ARCA Menards Series events since 2016, will move their operation to the NASCAR Xfinity Series full-time in 2020. The team will also still compete in a part-time basis in ARCA.

The team made the announcement at the NASCAR Hall of Fame on Wednesday.

“We’re excited to be expanding to compete in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2020. NASCAR’s marketing platform offers an opportunity like no other for both our existing partners and potential new partners. We have a great group of employees at Our Motorsports, who continue to work hard to grow the team. I am looking forward to getting to Daytona in February and seeing the No. 02 on the track,” said team owner, Chris Our.

Our Motorsports will house the No. 02 Chevrolet Camaro starting with the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway and NASCAR Whelen Modified Series champion Andy Seuss will be behind the wheel.

“Chris Our has been a huge influence and supporter of helping to continue the dream of competing at the highest level in NASCAR,” commented Andy Seuss. “He is a great guy, whose passion for motorsports has helped countless drivers over the years live their dreams to compete for wins every weekend.”

According to Kelly Crandall, team owner Chris Our has explained that the organization has bought chassis from GMS Racing to fill their stable of cars and they will utilize a portion of GMS Racing’s shop for setup and chassis work.

It’s great to see another new team hit the track in the Xfinity Series, but it appears that this team’s beginning likely will signal another team’s end.

GMS Racing has been rumored to be on the path to closing their Xfinity Series effort this offseason, and this move does nothing but bolster that rumor. It seems like the sell off of assets is currently underway for GMS Racing’s Xfinity Series team.
