Well, talk about a gut punch before even starting the race. Tyler Reddick’s No. 2 car in the NASCAR Xfinity Series failed pre-qualifying/pre-race inspection a total of four times before finally passing on the fifth go through.

This is bad news for the Richard Childress Racing team as Reddick’s Car Chief has been ejected. Reddick also will not be allowed to make a qualifying attempt, which will mean he starts from the absolute rear of the field in Friday night’s Food City 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway.

Adding insult to injury, Reddick will have to also serve a pass through penalty on the initial start of the race. He should probably be over a lap down before he even completes one lap at the World’s Fastest Half Mile.
