Despite various reports saying that Christopher Bell to Leavine Family Racing’s No. 95 Toyota Camry for 2020 is a done deal, Bell spoke with the media Thursday afternoon to set the record straight.

“Not yet. Not at this moment, it’s still all the way up in the air,” Bell said when asked if he knows where he’ll be driving next season. “There is a number of different cars I could drive next year. I mean obviously I could still drive the Xfinity Series, I could move to the Cup Series, so it’s not in my hands right now. Just have to go out there and try to win races. Ultimately, that’s the only way I’m going to better myself.”

Now, could this be a little bit of games-man ship from Bell’s agent? Well, no. See, he doesn’t have an agent brokering deals for him, he’s always handled it himself.

Bell was asked why he doesn’t have an agent, and he said, “Probably because that’s what I grew up doing. Sprint car racing, midget racing you always just dealt directly with the car owners. That’s the way I’ve grown up doing it and that’s the way I’m going to continue doing it.”

So, for now Bell to the No. 95 isn’t an official done deal out in the open, but it appears that many sources behind the scenes in the negotiations believe it’s all but done.
