Video: Tommy Joe Martins’ No. 44 Car Catches Fire in Opening NASCAR Xfinity Series Practice

You hate to see this for a small team that is trying to make some noise in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, but Tommy Joe Martins had an issue in the opening practice session for Saturday’s Production Alliance Group 300 at Auto Club Speedway.

Smoke billowed from under the hood, and then something ignited a fire.

Luckily, Martins would get the No. 44 car stopped and he would walk away, but this is the second-consecutive week that the No. 44 team has suffered a fire under the hood.
