Video: Justin Allgaier’s Disastrous Start to 2021 Continues With Crash in Final Stage at Homestead

Justin Allgaier has had a horrid start to the 2021 NASCAR Xfinity Series season, which continued in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Contender Boats 250 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The driver of the No. 7 JR Motorsports machine had voiced displeasure with the handling of his car throughout the race, but even with the ill-handling condition, it looked like Allgaier had a top-10 car on Saturday.

Then, on lap 96 of the 167 lap event, Allgaier slid up the track while attempting to pass Riley Herbst for position. Unfortunately, Allgaier kept creeping up the track, but he wasn’t clear. The No. 7 and No. 98 cars converged, which sent Allgaier into the wall and out of the race.

Allgaier suffered a DNF in the season-opening event at Daytona and was credited with a 28th-place finish. Last week at the Daytona Road Course, Allgaier struggled to a 26th-place finish. Saturday at Homestead, Allgaier was relegated to a 39th-place DNF.

The 34-year old Allgaier is coming off a career-best points finish of second in 2020.
