Okay, so the season hasn’t quite gotten of to the start that Ryan Newman and his No. Roush Fenway Racing team would have hoped. The driver was involved in several accidents between the Clash and the Daytona 500.

However, Newman should have everyone’s respect after finding a way to come home in 14th place in the Great American Race.

Newman’s No. 6 team posted a photo of the driver’s tire from the final 10-laps of the race. And to be honest, there isn’t much of that Goodyear product left.

Newman was forced to remain on the track with his flat tire or be parked for the race and lose precious points if he headed to pit road for service due to NASCAR’s Damaged Vehicle Policy.

Whether you like Newman or can’t stand him because he is always blocking your driver’s attempt to move forward in the running order, the 41-year-old had a gutsy end to the 2019 Daytona 500.

Newman will look for a much smoother weekend at a track where he has been very fast over the years — Atlanta Motor Speedway.
