Ty Gibbs, who has struggled mightily to find his footing through the opening four races of the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series season, is going to dip his toes into the dirt world. Gibbs, 22, is set to make his Sprint Car debut this week at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Gibbs will pilot a No. 84 Monster Energy Drink entry for Chad Boat’s CB Industries team in the event. The CB Industries team made the announcement in a social media video, which was posted on Monday.

In the post, the team revealed that Gibbs will also contest various select events throughout the 2025 season as well.

Gibbs will be joined in the High Limit Racing event by his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Christopher Bell.

The High Limit Racing Series event is set for Thursday, March 13 and will be broadcasted by FloRacing, with coverage kicking off at 7 PM ET.

Joe Gibbs Racing drivers had not been permitted to pursue extra-curricular racing events in years past, but this offseason, team owner Joe Gibbs relaxed that internal regulation, which led to Christopher Bell and Gibbs to compete in the Chili Bowl Nationals in January.

As Bell has gone back to his dirt-racing roots this offseason, his production on the NASCAR Cup Series side of things has improved, even from his perennial Playoff contending status. Heading into this weekend’s Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Bell has won the last three NASCAR Cup Series events.

Perhaps mixing it up on dirt more often will allow Gibbs to break out of the slump that he finds himself in on the NASCAR Cup Series side.

The driver, who nearly everyone expected to collect his first NASCAR Cup Series victory going into the 2025 season, sits 34th in the NASCAR Cup Series championship standings after the fourth race of the season, and Gibbs has just one top-20 finish, a 16th-place result in the season-opening Daytona 500.
