Results from 2026 DAYTONA 500 Pole Qualifying at Daytona

Kyle Busch and Richard Childress Racing have won the pole for the 68th Annual DAYTONA 500 at Daytona International Speedway, posting a blazing lap time in the second round of single-vehicle qualifying to take his 35th NASCAR Cup Series pole position.

It’s the first-ever pole in the DAYTONA 500 for Busch, who is still looking for a maiden victory in the prestigious event, and who enters the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series campaign looking to break the longest winless streak of his career to date.

The pole position also marks the first in the NASCAR Cup Series for Jim Pohlman, who is making his first start in the DAYTONA 500 as a crew chief. Pohlman entered the weekend with 19 career starts as a crew chief at NASCAR’s top-level.

Chase Briscoe, last year’s polesitter in the season-opening event, will start from the outside of the front row, and barring issues during Thursday’s 150-mile duel events, will start from the outside of the front row for Sunday’s 500-miler.
