Race Results: 2025 NCS South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway

It was an epic charge in the late stages of Sunday’s South Point 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway that put Denny Hamlin in Victory Lane for his landmark 60th NASCAR Cup Series victory.

The Chesterfield, Virginia-native made the pass on his teammate, Chase Briscoe, with four laps remaining in the 267-lap contest to take the top spot and drive to a 1.533-second lead over Kyle Larson.

Now, with his victory in Sunday’s event, Hamlin is guaranteed a spot in the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs ‘Championship 4’, and will head to Phoenix Raceway on November 2 with a shot to secure his first championship at NASCAR’s top level, after 20 years of frustration.

Kyle Larson led a race-high 129 laps on the afternoon at Las Vegas, but came home in the second position, while Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Christopher Bell and Chase Briscoe battled down to the wire to finish third and fourth, respectively.

Tyler Reddick was the highest finishing non-playoff driver in the No. 45 Jordan Brand Toyota Camry XSE, finishing in fifth. Joey Logano and crew chief Paul Wolfe made a fantastic strategy call to salvage a sixth-place finish, with Alex Bowman, Kyle Busch, and RFK Racing teammates Ryan Preece and Brad Keselowski rounding out the top-10.

NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs drivers that finished outside the top-10 include only three drivers, Chase Elliott, who was unable to recover from an early-race penalty to finish in 18th, William Byron, who was involved in a nasty-looking accident in the closing stages of Sunday’s event, and Ryan Blaney, who blew a left-front tire on Lap 70 and damaged his car beyond repair.

The NASCAR Cup Series will head to Talladega Superspeedway for the second-to-last event in the semi-final round of the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, with coverage on NBC and Motor Racing Network on October 19 at 2:00 PM ET.
