Christopher Bell led the way in NASCAR Cup Series practice at Iowa Speedway on Saturday afternoon. The driver of the No. 20 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota turned a fast lap time of 23.511 seconds (133.979 mph), which allowed him to top Bubba Wallace, who won last weekend’s Brickyard 400, for the fastest lap in the session.
Chase Briscoe, William Byron, and Kyle Larson rounded out the top-five fastest drivers in the session. Kyle Busch, who was the 17th-fastest driver in practice, crashed his car head-on into the Turn 2 wall during Group 1’s practice. Busch will go to a backup car due to the crash damage.
