After joining forces for the opening 11 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events of the year, Kris Wright and Young’s Motorsports have parted ways, a representative from the organization tells TobyChristie.com
Wright, who has been the full-season pilot of the No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado to this point in the season, currently sits 23rd in NASCAR Truck Series point standings, after scoring finishes of 16th or better on three occasions – at Atlanta, Texas, and Martinsville.
A native of Wexford, Pennsylvania, Wright entered the season with several NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Truck Series starts under his belt, scoring a NASCAR National Series best of 12th, on two different occasions.
“I love Kris [Wright] and his family, and wish him nothing but the best,” said Tyler Young, owner of Young’s Motorsports, which fields the No. 02, 12, and 20 full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this season.
At this time, the organization says that they’re still undergoing the process of reviewing the candidates interested in the remaining events in the No. 02 to close out the season, starting with Saturday’s Toyota 200 at Gateway.
An announcement regarding the driver of the No. 02 Chevrolet Silverado for Saturday’s event should come in the next couple of days, with further announcements potentially forthcoming.
