Rajah Caruth’s first NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Daytona International Speedway has come to an end, just short of 40 laps to go, after being involved in a multi-truck accident in the race’s final stage.

Caruth, driving the No. 24 Wendell Scott Foundation Chevrolet Silverado for GMS Racing, attempted to split the middle and make a three-wide move, which forced things to bottleneck as the field entered turn three.

The rookie driver managed to collect his teammate at GMS Racing Daniel Dye in the accident, as well as Corey Heim, Tanner Gray, Matt DiBenedetto, and Ty Majeski.

Only Caruth and Dye would be forced to retire from the event due to significant damage, while the other trucks involved in the accident would get away with minor repairs to their vehicles, ahead of the final run to the finish.
