Josh Williams had all four wheels off the ground in a major accident in the closing laps of Friday’s Wawa 250 at Daytona International Speedway, sending the field into a second NASCAR overtime.

Josh Williams got some gnarly air in the Wawa 250 at Daytona International Speedway, as part of a nine-car accident that happened during NASCAR Overtime in Friday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event.

Williams, driving the No. 92 Parking Guidance Systems Chevrolet Camaro for DGM Racing, was tipped in front of the pack in the race’s closing laps, after contact with Blaine Perkins, where he was clobbered by John Hunter Nemechek, lifting the car off the ground.

Luckily, the safety devices on the NASCAR Xfinity Series cars did their jobs, and put Williams back on the ground – avoiding a more severe accident like we’ve seen on superspeedways over the years.

Blaine Perkins, Josh Berry, Chandler Smith, Trevor Bayne, John Hunter Nemechek, Brett Moffitt, Jeremy Clements, and Williams were all involved in the accident, as well as Garrett Smithley, who was collected in it late.

Luckily, all drivers were able to climb from their vehicles under their own power, and walk back to the ambulance.
