With Corey Heim sidelined for Saturday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at WWT Raceway due to illness, Ty Majeski has a prime opportunity to take over the regular-season points lead.

Majeski is taking advantage of that opportunity, scoring the pole for Saturday’s Toyota 200 at the 1.25-mile facility, putting his No. 98 Road Ranger Ford F-150 at the top of the speed charts in qualifying.

Posting a time of 32.569 seconds (138.168mph), Majeski earned the top spot by one-tenth of a second over ThorSport Racing teammate Ben Rhodes, who won at Charlotte Motor Speedway, starting alongside him on the front row.

Christian Eckes will start the race from third place, with Carson Hocevar and Stewart Friesen completing the top-five starters for Saturday’s 200-mile contest. Zane Smith, Jake Garcia, Chase Purdy, Nick Sanchez, and Grant Enfinger finished in the top-10.

Corey Heim, who usually pilots the No. 11 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro for TRICON Garage, has been sidelined this week due to an illness. Jesse Love took over his seat for the weekend, posting a time good enough to qualify 20th, after a mistake in turn one.

Toni Breidinger, taking over the ride that Love was scheduled to occupy in the event posted a solid time in Friday’s qualifying session, which was good enough for a career-best 18th-place start.

Rounding out the 35-truck field to start Saturday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Gateway will be Matt Crafton and Rajah Caruth, who both failed to post a lap in Friday’s single-truck qualifying session.
