Trevor Bayne, the 2011 champion of the Daytona 500, will return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season, signing a multi-race agreement to pilot the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra for Joe Gibbs Racing.

The 32-year-old driver will make his first start of the year in Friday’s Wawa 250 Presented by Coca-Cola at Daytona International Speedway, with more races on the docket afterward with the race-winning organization.

Bayne will then return to the No. 19 Toyota GR Supra at Bristol Motor Speedway on September 15th, before rounding out his three-race stint for the organization at Texas Motor Speedway on September 23rd.

After a six-season hiatus from the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Bayne returned to the series in 2022 for a part-time stint for Joe Gibbs Racing, where he recorded five top-five and seven top-10 results in nine starts, including a pair of runner-up finishes at Nashville and Loudon.

Upon initiating a return to NASCAR’s National Series in 2020, Bayne contested an eight-race schedule with Niece Motorsports in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, where he scored a runner-up finish at Talladega Superspeedway and two top-10s.

According to a social media post by Joe Gibbs Racing, Interstate Batteries will play a role in the sponsorship side of bringing Bayne back to the organization for a three-race stint in 2023.
