While on the way to Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Wednesday, Stewart-Haas Racing’s NASCAR Xfinity Series hauler was involved in an accident a few miles west of Flagstaff, Arizona.

The hauler, which was about four hours from its destination in Las Vegas, Nevada, was spotted getting emergency assistance on the shoulder of a highway – confirmed by Stewart-Haas Racing to be Interstate 40 – by Spencer Hill, who documented the scene on social media.

After TobyChristie.com reached out to Stewart-Haas Racing for comment on the hauler’s accident, the organization provided the following statement on Wednesday:

“Earlier today, the No. 98 NASCAR Xfinity Series hauler of Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR) was involved in a single-vehicle accident on Interstate 40 a few miles west of Flagstaff, Arizona. The truck had two occupants and neither was seriously injured, although one was taken to a local hospital for further treatment and observation. No other details regarding their respective conditions are available at this time.”

According to NASCAR’s Team Roster Portal, Steve Wood and Gary Lowder are the names of the two hauler drivers heading to Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend.

“SHR can confirm that speed was not a factor in the crash. While the rig was damaged, the hauler and its contents appeared relatively unscathed. Plans are already underway for a new rig to hook up to the hauler and deliver it to Las Vegas Motor Speedway in time for Xfinity Series hauler parking at 10:30 am PDT on Friday.”

Any additional updates will be added to this story, when/if they become available.
