The Sherry Strong Foundation, a foundation dedicated to the mission of raising awareness and fundraising for women’s and children’s health causes, will serve as the primary sponsor of the No. 24 Sam Hunt Racing Toyota GR Supra in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Drive for the Cure 250 at Charlotte Motor Speedway’s ROVAL.

Connor Mosack, who recently scored his first-ever top-five result in the entry at Watkins Glen International, will pilot the No. 24 SherryStrong.org Toyota GR Supra in the October 7th event, which will carry the back and teal colors of the Sherry Strong Foundation.

Pollex, who passed away earlier this month after a decade-long battle with ovarian cancer, was the founder of the Sherry Strong Foundation, and the co-founder of the Martin Truex, Jr. Foundation, both of which have hosted cancer research fundraisers over the years.

“My love and passion for this story has never been drawn from the sole desire to stand in victory lane and collect statistics, or even collect the trophies that seem to bring us temporary validation and happiness we often seek,” said Sam Hunt, owner of Sam Hunt Racing. “My true love is people, and the ability to make a positive impact using this platform is my passion.”

“Sherry Pollex not only shared this passion but was a proven champion within it. She fought her courageous battle with cancer alongside teammates who are neat and dear to our SHR family. To honor Sherry, the Polllex family, and the Sherry Strong Foundation on our race car is a privilege I know I will never feel truly deserving of. It’s going to be a special weekend celebrating this champion in Charlotte.”.

Richmond Burgdoff, the husband of Pollex’s sister, best friend, and Sherry Strong director, Jull Burgdoff, will serve as the car chief of the No. 24 SherryStrong.org Toyota Supra at Charlotte’s ROVAL. Early in 2023, the team welcomed Burgdoff in the role of Lead Mechanic.

Throughout the weekend of October 6th, the No. 24 SherryStrong.org Toyota will be adorned in black and teal, representing Pollex’s charity, with her beloved dogs Charlee and Grayson riding along. SherryStrong.org is a resource for oncology patients and their caregivers to help them navigate a cancer diagnosis.

The Sherry Strong Foundation is focused on bringing integrative therapies to women undergoing treatment for gynecological cancers at low or no cost to the patient while promoting healthy living.
