This is a pretty cool announcement. Sargento Cheese has signed on to sponsor Josh Bilicki in the No. 45 Alpha Prime Racing machine in the upcoming NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Watkins Glen International.

The sponsorship signing comes a month after Bilicki skidded into Sargento Cheese signage during a race at Road America. According to a release from the team, that incident is actually what sparked the new partnership.

Bilicki, who like Sargento, hails from Wisconsin, is pumped at the opportunity to represent the brand.

”I am excited for this opportunity to partner with Sargento at Watkins Glen Raceway this August,” said Bilicki. “As a native Wisconsinite, I have enjoyed Sargento products for many years. I am a true believer that everything happens for a reason, including my recent run in with the Sargento sign. I am thankful to be welcomed into the Sargento family and to represent a Wisconsin-based company in my upcoming race.”

Sargento says that the decision to run as the sponsor of Alpha Prime was due to the company liking to have fun.

“Sargento has been a long-time partner of Road America and we are proud to have this iconic landmark in our own backyard,” said Louie Gentine, CEO of Sargento. “When we saw our sign on the front of Josh’s car, we had the same reaction as many others. We like to have fun so, we’re excited to partner with the Wisconsin native for this upcoming race.”

Sargento will also be giving away an autographed photo of Bilicki through their Instagram and Twitter channels leading up to the big race at Watkins Glen.

Bilicki, 27, has made five NASCAR Xfinity Series starts in 2022 and he has performed admirably. In the season-opening race at Daytona, Bilicki scored his first-career NXS top-10 finish with a ninth-place effort. Bilicki also scored a 13th-place finish at Road America following the Sargento Cheese sign excursion.
