Josh Williams has been suspended from competing in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Circuit of The Americas, after his actions from last weekend’s event at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

Williams violated Sections 4.3.A; 4.4.B & D, and Section 8.7.6 of the NASCAR Xfinity Series Rule Book, when parking his No. 92 Chevrolet Camaro at the start-finish line, after the sanctioning body informed him that he would be done for the afternoon.

After sitting in the NASCAR Xfinity Series trailer for the duration of the long-winded event, Williams said he was “shocked” by being parked, and that he would be accepting any penalties that NASCAR would throw his way.

As of the time of publishing, there was no word on who will take over the driving duties of the No. 92 Chevrolet Camaro in Saturday’s Pit Boss Grills 250 at Circuit of The Americas.

Reaume Brothers Racing Handed Major Safety-Related Penalty:

In the early portion of Saturday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Atlanta Motor Speedway, a caution flew for a piece of ballast that had been shot onto the track by one of the trucks.

That piece of ballast belonged to Mason Massey, who competes on a full-time basis in the series for Reaume Brothers Racing. As a result of this, Gregory Rayl, Matthew Crossman, and Travis Armstrong have been suspended for the next three NASCAR Truck Series events.

ThorSport Racing Pit Crew Member Violates SAP:

Deandre Smith, the jackman for Ben Rhodes’ No. 99 Ford F-150 in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, has been indefinitely suspended by NASCAR for violating the sanctioning body’s Substance Abuse Policy.

Smith also worked as a Chassis Specialist for The Money Team Racing, which will return to the series in this weekend’s NASCAR Cup Series event at Circuit of The Americas, but will have to do so without him.

Cory Roper Reinstated:

Finally, NASCAR announced on Tuesday that Cory Roper has been reinstated by NASCAR, after it was determined the owner of Roper Racing Team had violated NASCAR’s Substance Abuse Policy. Roper is now eligible to return to all NASCAR activities.
