Jeremy Mayfield Assuming New Role at North Carolina Short Track

It’s an exciting time for Carteret Speedway race fans as former NASCAR driver, Jeremy Mayfield has partnered with “America’s Nicest Short Track.”

Jeremy Mayfield, a former NASCAR driver with over 400 races under his belt and five wins in the premier Cup Series, has joined forces with Carteret Speedway, also known as “America’s Nicest Short Track.” With over 30 years in the motorsports industry, Mayfield brings valuable knowledge and expertise to the track.

In his new role at Carteret Speedway, Mayfield will be responsible for various aspects of the track’s operations including competition, marketing, and community partnerships.

Mayfield said, “I grew up racing at short tracks so Carteret feels like home to me. I’m looking forward to working alongside Bob Lowery and the great team he already has in place to help elevate an already exciting racing program.”

Fans can still look forward to seeing Jeremy Mayfield behind the wheel this season. He will run full-time in the Grand National Super Series and hopes to race at some local short tracks throughout the year as well. This continued involvement in racing will keep Mayfield connected to his passion while contributing to the success of Carteret Speedway.

Mayfield’s background in NASCAR racing adds a new dimension to Carteret Speedway’s roster. As a seasoned driver with a successful track record, Mayfield’s presence will attract more fans and elevate the level of competition at the speedway. His skills behind the wheel and his knowledge of racing dynamics are valuable assets that can contribute to the overall success of the team.

Bob Lowery, the Track Owner of Carteret Speedway, expressed his enthusiasm about Jeremy Mayfield joining their team. Lowery said, “We, at Carteret Speedway, are super excited to have Jeremy Mayfield join our team.

“He brings so much to the table,” said Lowery. “We cannot wait to begin the 2024 racing season, Bobby Watson would be proud.”

Lowery’s mention of Bobby Watson in his statement also pays tribute to a figure who played a significant role in the history of Carteret Speedway. By invoking Watson’s name, Lowery is honoring the legacy of the Speedway and signaling a commitment to upholding its traditions while embracing new opportunities for growth and success.

The 2024 race season for Carteret Speedway kicks off at 2pm on Saturday, April 6th with the Islander Hotel & Resort’s JumpStart 2024. The 2024 season is set to be a thrilling journey filled with adrenaline-pumping races, fierce rivalries, and unforgettable moments that will captivate both seasoned racing enthusiasts and newcomers alike.
