Greg Van Alst, the winner of the ARCA Menards Series season-opener at Daytona International Speedway, has been tapped to complete the season for Young’s Motorsports in the No. 20 Chevrolet Silverado, the team announced on Wednesday.
CB Fabrication, a long-time partner of Greg Van Alst Motorsports in the ARCA Menards Series, will serve as the primary sponsor of the entry in at least five of his seven scheduled starts, beginning with Friday’s T-Sport 200 at Indianapolis Raceway Park.
“I am very appreciative of this opportunity with Young’s Motorsports,” said Van Alst. “I have been weighing our options on what path to take for the remainder of the 2023 season and when Tyler [Young] and I chatted, the pairing made sense.”
“I know he holds a lot of the same values and expectations that I have being a racing veteran but also a new face on the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series tour. I think we can put together some strong finishes that could lead to more for next season.”
The 42-year-old driver has made a total of 36 starts in the ARCA Menards Series to date, including a single victory at Daytona in February, as well as three top-five and 17 top-10 results.
After a brief hiatus, in which he focused on competing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for Alpha Prime Racing, Van Alst will also make his return to the ARCA Menards Series at Indianapolis Raceway Park, driving his self-owned No. 35.
“I am thrilled to welcome Greg [Van Alst] to the Young’s Motorsports family,” said Tyler Young, owner of Young’s Motorsports. “I have watched Greg for several years now and his determination and passion is going to be a great asset to our organization over the next three months.”
“With his experience and background, we feel he can bring a lot to the table and help us not only evaluate our Truck Series program – but also offer a good trajectory for improvements for the 2024 seasons.”
