Daniel Dye, a full-time driver in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, will make his debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in Saturday’s Andy’s Frozen Custard 300 at Texas Motor Speedway, as part of a three-race deal with Alpha Prime Racing.

The 19-year-old driver will get his feet wet in the second-tier series driving the No. 44 Chevrolet Camaro at the 1.5-mile facility in Fort Worth, Texas, before returning to the series for an additional two events at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Phoenix Raceway.

Champion Container, one of Dye’s sponsors in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, will serve as the primary sponsor of the effort, as they bring along their eye-catching red, yellow, and white color branding to the paint scheme.

“I’m really looking forward to making my Xfinity debut with Tommy Joe Martins and everyone at Alpha Prime,” remarked Daniel Dye. “It’s a great opportunity to compete at the next level and get a feel for what the Xfinity car is like before hopefully getting more opportunities in the future.”

Dye’s three-race stint with Alpha Prime Racing will mark just the second time in his professional racing career that he won’t be piloting the No. 43, having previously raced the No. 21 for GMS Racing on a part-time ARCA Menards Series schedule in 2021.

This season, Dye has partnered with GMS Racing to compete full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, driving the No. 43 Chevrolet Silverado. In 20 starts in the Truck Series, Dye has recorded a career-best result of 11th at WWT Raceway.

The Deland, Florida native has also scored one victory in the ARCA Menards Series, while driving for GMS Racing in 2021 at Berlin Raceway. Last season, Dye finished runner-up in ARCA Menards Series points, also for GMS Racing.

Becoming the leading packaging container distributor in the Northeast, Champion Container has seven strategic locations that cater to both domestic and international customers across various industries including chemical, food, and pharmaceutical, with the company’s strength lies in timely deliveries, via their own fleet and a vast inventory.

“Daniel is a really exciting prospect,” stated team owner Tommy Joe Martins. “We feel fortunate to be the team giving him his first shot in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and we’re really looking forward to seeing what he can do at Texas, Vegas, and Phoenix to close out the year.”

Race to Stop Suicide, ONE DAYTONA, B&L Construction, DME Academy, and Kevtron Media will all have prominent placement on the No. 44 Chevrolet as associate partners. Additional sponsorship inventory is still available.
